Short Description: DWORF Blocking Peptide for STJ500800 is synthetically produced from the Full Length sequence and is suitable for use in western blot applications.
Formulation: Liquid form at 2.5mg/ml concentration in PBS. Up to 5% DMSO can be added. Orders with >1mg can be supplied in lyophilized powder form, or in buffer of choice.
Storage Instruction: Store at-20°C for long term storage. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: This blocking peptide is recommended for use in combination with DWORF antibody, STJ500800
Immunogen: Synththetic peptide corresponding to full length Sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase regulator DWORF protein.
Tissue Specificity Highly expressed in heart (at protein level). Detected in heart and soleus, a postural muscle group of the hindlimb containing the highest enrichment of slow-twitch muscle fibers. Also expressed in diaphragm, which contains some slow-twitch fibers. Not detected in the quadriceps, a fast-twitch muscle group, or in cardiac atrial muscle. Not expressed in the prenatal heart but gradually increases in abundance postnatally.
Function Enhances the activity of ATP2A1/SERCA1 ATPase in sarcoplasmic reticulum by displacing ATP2A1/SERCA1 inhibitors, thereby acting as a key regulator of skeletal muscle activity. Does not directly stimulate SERCA pump activity. Enhances sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca(2+) uptake and myocyte contractility by displacing the SERCA inhibitory peptides sarcolipin (SLN), phospholamban (PLN) and myoregulin (MRLN).
